According to The Fanlistings Network: A fanlisting is a web clique that lists fans of a particular subject. Unlike most web cliques, a person does not need a web site in order to join. Fans from around the world submit their information to their approved fanlisting and they are then listed to show their love for the subject.
Who is Kitana?
Kitana is a female fighter in the wildly popular Mortal Kombat video game series.
Kitana made her first appearance in Mortal Kombat II, where she served as an assassin alongside her twin sister, Mileena. However, it was revealed that Kitana was actually the heir to the thrown of Outworld, as Shao Kahn had murdered her parents, King Jarrod and Queen Sindel. Mileena was not her twin at all, but rather, a grotesque clone created by Shang Tsung.
Kitana set out to take back what was rightfully hers, and she succeeded. Taking the thrown of Edenia, she restored the realm to nobility.
Since MKII, Kitana has been in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Mortal Kombat Gold, and Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Though not a playable character, she also made appearances in Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat 4.
Kitana was played by actress Talisa Soto in the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie, and the 1997 sequel, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
Why a Kitana fanlisting?
Kitana has been my favorite video game character (and one of my favorite ficticious characters, period) since I first played Mortal Kombat II back in 1994.
The name of the fanlisting, Kitana's Fans, is a play on words -- "fans" stands for the many people around the world who are fans of the blue-clad female ninja, and it also represents Kitana's trademark weapon, the steel fan.
